DTH Portable Appliance Testing Services are here to ensure that
all your portable appliances are safe for use in conjunction
with Regulation 4 (2) of the Electricity at Work Act 1989. We
also offer a day or night service including out of hours
contracts.
Our qualified engineers who are all City and guilds qualified
and use the most advanced PAT testing equipment available all
testing will be completed accurately and safely causing minimal
disruption to your staff, business and clients.

The Electricity At Work Regulation focuses
on the "Duty of Care" in relation to any machinery connected to
the electricity supply via a removable plug. Neglecting
electrical systems could result in injuries to your employees,
lost income and fines if found in breach of your statutory
responsibilities.
In some instances, it may even invalidate your insurance claims.
To assist companies to comply with this legislation, the
electrical industry has developed a range of tests to an
industry standard. This ensures that all portable appliances are
checked by a technician to ensure they comply with the
pre-defined standard and are safe for the purpose that they are
designed for.
Electricity at Work Act requires that appliances are tested:
1. Where portable appliances are used by employees
2. Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels, shops etc.
3. Where portable appliances are supplied or hired.
4. Where portable appliances are repaired or serviced.
